The Away From It All (AFIA) scheme is one of Mothers’ Union’s longest-running projects, primarily funded by our members
The scheme supports families through the provision of holidays and trips, offering much needed respite to people unable to afford or access a break due to difficult circumstances. Some families may be facing adversity, health problems, economic hardship, bereavement, health issues or other life-changing circumstances.
How to apply for an AFIA break
Families requesting an AFIA holiday don’t have to be MU members or attend a church, and you can apply for yourselves or recommend someone else for a holiday or day trip/activity.
To apply, email afia@mothersunion.org to start the application process. Your details will be passed on to a local Mothers’ Union holiday coordinator who will then contact the family to fill in the application form. Please note – if nominating someone else, please ensure they consent to their details being shared.
